Something old, something new, something borrowed.
Mollie came to our boutique with her grandmother’s 60 year old vintage wedding dress. She explained to us the sentimental value and what her grandmother’s dress meant to her.
With that said, she also had lots of ideas of what she wanted the dress to look like. Our goal was to achieve that, without compromising the original design and utilizing every inch of vintage lace.
How do you take a high neck gown and you make it backless with a key hole, not to mention the basque waist and the long sleeves.
First things first, matching the lace, after sometime we were able to get a matching lace with scalloped eyelashes.
With Mollie’s approval we started cutting, adding lace and sewing.
After a few fittings, Mollie’s grandmother’s wedding gown has become Mollie’s dream gown.
Getting the photos from Mollie brought tears to our eyes as she looks stunning and timeless!
The scalloped lace looks absolutely breathtaking. Adding an Ivory Duchess sash with the gorgeous bow and long streamers made the back of the train look magnificent.
We are honored that Mollie and her family trusted us with their heirloom.
It was such a pleasure to be a part of your special day!!
Conratulations Mollie and Chris, best wishes from all of us here at Anglo Couture.
In Mollie’s words:
“I took my 61 year old grandmothers dress to Anglo Couture to be remade and I am so happy with the outcome. Meeghan was an amazing seamstress and made my dress absolutely breathtaking. She was able to accomplish all my idea’s and was able to pull off my envisioned dress. They were extremely professional and very understanding how important the vintage dress was to me. They kept every button and extra piece of lace safe, even if it wasn’t being utilized on the dress. I am so happy with how my dress turned out.”
